Ahaha! Thank you. That article is such drivel. I think it’s nifty that he performed in the subway, but he’s not the first famous musician to do so. Joe Strummer used to busk in the subway after The Clash broke up.
The only real conclusion that can be drawn from the story is that people have priorities and in the morning that priority is getting to work on time. Another conclusion could simply be that many people don’t like Bach. I don’t see any reason whatsoever to conclude that this is some sort of social proof that we’re all missing out on something or that our priorities are screwed up. Certainly, if plenty of people paid $100 to see him perform two nights prior, there are tons of folks who prioritize concerts and music in their lives. But there’s a time and a place for everything.
